MiQ congratulates Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and the Government of Canada on recognising the importance of global co-operation to measure, report and reduce methane emissions across LNG value chains.
The Partnership Statement was launched with METI, Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC), International Energy Agency (IEA), UNEP’s International Methane Emissions Observatory – IMEO, International Group of Liquefied Natural Gas Importers (GIIGNL), Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), and MiQ, with support from the Government of Canada.
MiQ is also pleased to officially recognise and support the Coalition for LNG Emission Abatement toward Net-zero (CLEAN Initiative).
Our CEO Georges Tijbosch was at the LNGPCC in Tokyo, Japan, for the announcement and shared the stage with these organisations.
Today’s announcement supports Japan’s ambitions to better understand emissions and pursue cleaner LNG supply.
