Dr Ali Lashgari

Dr Ali Lashgari is the Scientific and Technical Director at MiQ (Methane Intelligence), a not-for-profit climate tech foundation undertaking cutting-edge work to reduce methane emissions in the oil and gas sector.

Ali serves as the organization’s central technical authority, leading the evolution of MiQ’s performance standards, accreditation processes, and supply chain tools. He focuses on applying practical, science-based solutions to scale methane measurement and emissions tracking across the global energy sector.

Ali brings over a decade of interdisciplinary experience in greenhouse gas management, air quality compliance, and energy economics. He was previously the Manager of Scientific and Academic Partnerships at Project Canary and a Principal Investigator at Clean Air Engineering, where he focused on the application of continuous monitoring systems and leak detection and repair. His background includes deep expertise in environmental impact assessments of energy production.

Ali holds a PhD in Energy and Mineral Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and an MS in Data Analytics. He is a recognized leader in the scientific community, and highly experienced in the energy and mineral space, having published his recent findings in over 30 peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings combined where he represents the technical voice of the industry.
